CalHeat finally managed to get their first win in the San Francisco Bay Area Championship Series and reduced the Golden Bears lead to two games to one.
The Golden Bears went a bit handicapped into game 3, missing two of their veteran backcourt players and having only one substitute player. Whereas CalHeat for the first time had most of their players on board. But that didn’t stop the young Golden Bears to show any fear. They even opened up a 4 goal lead towards the middle of the first half. However CalHeat would not let them run away that easy and used all their experience to tie the game at 17 a piece at half time.
At the beginning of the second half it looked like the Golden Bears had used up all their freshness and energy. Since CalHeat had no trouble to score 6 unanswered goals in only 5 minutes to take a 23 to 17 lead. The Golden Bears tried hard to get back into the game. But with all their routine and cleverness CalHeat did not let them get closer than 2 goals. Therefore in the end CalHeat took an easy 30 to 27 victory over the Golden Bears.
CalHeat now eager to tie the series is already looking forward to the next game. While the Golden Bears have some work to do, in order to stop CalHeat during the next game in February 2010.
