Change in Leadership at SF CalHeat

On June 21, our board of directors appointed Jean-Marc Junique as President for the upcoming 2021-22 handball season.

Jean-Marc succeeds to Bernward Schwarte, who led the club since 2013. We want to thank Bernie for his efforts and relentless work, most notably establishing a successful collaboration with the Centerville Jr. High School, our handball home for the last two decades. His passion for the sport and CalHeat enabled this club to grow and expand its reach to more people. He will continue to serve as Vice-President and member of the board.

Similarly to Bernie, Jean-Marc has been a prominent figure of our club (and on the US handball scene) over the last 20 years. His energy will most certainly give us all the momentum we need to achieve the many initiatives and programs we have planned. We are thrilled to have him guide us as we emerge from months of inactivity.

During our recent annual meeting, we also learnt that Kevin Poulet will not renew his seat as treasurer. We’re saddened to see Kevin depart from this role as he was a central piece of our organization and provided a much needed financial stability and transparency over the last three years.
