First Ever Handball Scholarship Awarded to UC Berkeley Freshman Andrew Park

San Francisco CalHeat President, Jean-Marc Junique, and Youth Development Director, Martin Bilello, met with UC Berkeley Freshman, Andrew Park to congratulate him on being the first awardee of the “SF CalHeat Handball Scholarship”.

This unique scholarship was created to provide financial help for Graduating Seniors who have played Handball at the Bay Area Youth Team Handball League for at least 2 years, and plan to continue their Handball playing while in College. Andrew Park was one of the many players from our league that submitted their application and the Cali Kings player was selected by the SF CalHeat Board of Directors as the first recipient.

Andrew’s Handball career from Bret Harte Middle School to Leland High School and his Cali Kings Handball Club, his many accomplishment on and off the field, and his application essay, where he described his plans to continue playing and promoting Handball in the Bay Area and the US, were the keys to his selection.

Andrew will receive $500 each year for 4 (four) years, to help finance his education at UC Berkeley, where he will be a key member of the newly created Handball Club there.
